A village where the Gabrielino Indians once lived in the year of 1750 is now known as Playa Del Rey, "The Last Stop Before The Pacific". Located at the center of some of the best beaches on the Pacific Coast. To the south we have El Porto, Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo, Torrance, and Palos Verdes and to the north Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica and the Malibu Beaches. Playa Del Rey is a friendly town surrounded by wet lands and the Pacific Ocean. You can walk to the pedestrian bridge that connects to the sister city, "Marina Del Rey" one of the greatest harbor's on the Pacific Ocean and view the boats coming and going out of the harbor, or walk along the bike path that hugs the sand and the sea. You'll see bikers, skaters, joggers and sun bathers enjoying the ocean breeze. If your timing is right, a volleyball tournament may be in progress. Let 's not forget the surf, when it breaks, it's an awesome bonus to your experience. No matter where you are or live in Playa del Rey, you have no need for your car, unless it's just to get here. You can walk to the beach, or to your favorite restaurants, cafe's, taverns, or stores. When the heat is on in L. A. we'll cool you down at a 10 to 15 degree drop, without the smog!
